The Story behind:

This beautiful pottery has taken it's name from the village of Tamegroute, located in the Draa River valley in southern Morocco, In the Berber language, Tamegroute means ''The last place before the desert''.

In this tiny little village, this pottery was born, out of clay, barely flour and a special glazing mixture made of manganese, cobalt and copper. At the backing step, the oven reaches 2192 Fahrenheit  which produces a chemical reaction with the glaze and creates the incredible green color. Because of all the different variables in this unique ancestral process, a Tamegroute pottery piece is always unique in shape and color.

A Tamgroute is truly the embodiment of a the beauty of imperfection, within one piece you can find multiple shades of green, you may also notice some imperfections in the glazing due to stacking the pottery on top of each other in the oven according to the traditional technique.

We assure you one thing, no one in the world, will have the same piece as you, sherish it and enjoy it.
